Garfield vs Cleveland Recap

Garfield Cross Country picks up its second win of the season
The Garfield cross country team took care of business at Genesee Park on Thursday afternoon, beating Cleveland easily in the boys and girls races.
This is Garfield’s second win in what has been a pretty comfortable start to the season. Cleveland was coming into this meet with less than ten total runners, making it very difficult for them to be competitive overall. The Garfield boys and girls both swept the top 15 in their races, with a lot of people getting new personal bests. The varsity boys ran as a group for the first part of the race, and then slowly spread out. The top four boys still finished within 20 seconds of each other, which is a great sign for the coming weeks. The varsity girls runners also finished around the same time, and had a great race despite a few mild injuries.
The Bulldogs will look to continue their hot start to the season next week when they travel to Magnuson park to race Eastside Catholic.
